MG Motor India and Tata Power have signed a memorandum of understanding to use 50KW DC Superfast chargers at selected MG sales points and to offer end-to-end EV charging solutions to MG sales points spread across India. Thanks to this partnership, MG Motor aims to focus specifically on the key cities it will enter as part of future EV expansion plans. These super-fast 50KW DC chargers can work compatible with both MG ZS EV customers and other cars according to the CCS / CHAdeMO charging standards.

MG Motor India currently has a total of 10 SuperFast 50 kW charging stations at dealers in five cities (New Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad) and is trying to expand them to more cities. On the other hand, Tata Power has established a detailed EV Charging ecosystem with 180+ Charging points in 19 different cities under the brand EZ Charge. In addition, MG Motor India installed an AC charger in the home of customers who prefer ZS EV.

“We are confident that we will create a different synergy with a partner like Tata Power, an expert in power and renewable energy,” said MG Motor India President and MD Rajeev Chaba.

The MG-Tata Power partnership will also explore the possibility of second-life management of EV batteries.
